Introduction to GIS: Mapping the World with QGIS
This course introduces learners to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) — the technology behind digital maps, spatial analysis, and location-based decision-making. Starting with no prior experience required, students will learn core GIS concepts, get hands-on with the two most widely used platforms (QGIS, free/open-source), and build their first maps using real-world spatial data. By the end, learners will be able to import data, create thematic maps, perform basic spatial queries, and understand how GIS is used across fields like urban planning, environmental science, logistics, and public health.
